i have a strong dislike of gatherings of women. it hardly makes sense because it usually involves the sweetest of friends. but something about the overflow of estrogen usually leaves me cringing.
so i knew it would be difficult to plan a bridal shower for my best friend that didn’t feel that way to me.
in the end, it was unlike any other bridal shower i have been a part of, and it felt like an artistic expression of myself and my love for my best friend.
i loved it. i loved hosting friends. i loved creating. i loved spending time with my mom and another of my best friends pulling it all together on saturday.
i also loved being maid of honor (i can’t bring myself to say “matron of honor”), hostess, best friend, and photographer all in one.
crafting the invitations.
one of my favorite ideas.
festive flowers.
i learned to make pom flower garlands.
what a face.
the banner that i drove half-way back to college station for.
the cutest pettifores i’ve ever seen.
the delicious food!
mothers and daughter.
the pinata, named pepito and curtis simultaneously, before his doom.
one of my favorite people in the world. so chic.
so i’m not really in any photos, so i posted this one…
…and this one. you can see my accomplishment on the ground behind me. 🙂
before and after. i made a painting and a bunch of little flowers that i passed out at the shower for everyone to write their hopes for the couple on. it turned out beautiful and i want one of my own!
my favorite part of the night was the look on her face when i introduced her opponent in a game. barak came runing down the stairs and surprised everyone. it was incredible. then they played a game to see how well they knew each other. allie won. 🙂
my favorite gift she was given- a circa 1930s locket with tiny photos in it from their engagement shoot i did :).
the groom having fun with all the gifts.
sets of salt and pepper shakers.
the bride’s bouquet for her rehearsal, made from all the bows. her grandmother put silk hydrangeas on the package instead of bows- i love it.
so proud that everyone dressed mexico-bohemian as i requested on the invites!
girl, that looks wonderful! i love the sunflowers and the painting you created. i'm sure it was a huge encouragement for Allie!
The shower looked AMAZING! I so wish I could have made it, unfortunately gas is not free. 🙁
I love, love, love the idea of the painting you did…how creative!
the pictures are amazing, fuzz! and so was the wonderful, beautiful, creative shower that you threw me. it was so much fun, and i am so blessed to have such a thoughtful, artistic bestie. 🙂 i love you! heck, i fuzz you.
What a beautiful shower & what a beautiful way to tell the story. ALL of it so creative! Miss you girl!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME
I love everything about it, especially Griff being there.
Beautiful. What a gift! 🙂
I think I hear Queen in the background…Bohemian Rhapsody perhaps?
