today was one of those days full of sparkling moments that i wish and wish would never end.
i took another roadtrip. this time, the other way (west).
beautiful moment number one: i climbed through jungle-like terrain until i came to a waterfall. the sound of the water and the warmth of the sun pouring down made me want to sit there all day reading a good book and drinking pineapple soda. unfortunately, i was lacking in both so i settled with listening to iron and wine combined with falling water and contemplated life.
beautiful moment number two: a secluded beach. i was all alone on a beach in gialova park- a place with all sorts of rare species of birds and reptiles. i spent a few hours there– tanning, writing, and making my own interpretation of earth art.
beautiful moment number three: this one was perhaps my favorite and it encompassed many moments in my day. cruising through greece, blasting john mayer, windows down, sand in between my toes. i felt life today. there was something just about driving through the mountains and beside the sea, listening to wonderful upbeat music that had me soaring. late afternoon i stopped at a beach where the water was crystal clear and extremely shallow so that i could walk out really far.
that’s the best i can do at trying to explain what today was like. i hope i at least gave you a little taste.
City Of Patras, go there. From there take the ferry to Ithaki. It should still be done by Blue Star Ferry lines. When you get to Ithaki, take a taxi up to the village of Perahori, and there you will see my roots!
Try some islands on that side of the coast there. Ithaki, Kefalonia, Lefkada offer some great experiences.
Tahnawannaseebeauty:
Okay, dad speak first: NEVER pick up hitchhikers ever! Perhaps I need a little more faith in your safety, but let's reduce the odds a bit by waving to hitchhikers as you pass.
Looks and sounds like a beautiful day. The photos are again – AMAZING. Brooke and I simply must travel to Greece someday and experience the beauty to which you speak.
We are so looking forward to Joseph's soon visit to stay before departing to Greece and we are excited for the time you two will spend together.
In other news, the physical therapist may be trying to kill me, though she says it is for my own good. Keep up the posts, stay safe, and be blessed.
Love,
Dad
your pictures are INCREDIBLE. I know they don't even begin to capture the beauty you are actually seeing, but they capture some of the prettiest scenes I have possibly ever scene. you are so blessed to be there tahni.
First – I KNEW the first thing dad was going to say was, "never pick up hitchhikers!"
Second – the descriptions of all the places you went were cool. The waterfall photo was neat.
