today i took 115 photos.
today i also:
-was too proud to let the people in the subway know i had walked the wrong direction so i walked an extra block.
-nearly had my hands freeze off in the blustery winds.
-nearly had my face freeze off in the blustery winds.
-was refused entry into the place i’m staying.
-ate cheese. (that’s a shout out to you marylyn- happy birthday!)
-was accused of being a money thief based solely on the fact that i’m from houston like those guys from enron.
-successfully navigated the subway system having only done so once in 2007.
-hung out with a friend i have known since i was 9.
-ate yummy shrimp at cafe orlin.
-went to the oldest bar in new york city.
-went underground in a bar of which i never knew the name to hear two wonderful bands from pittsburgh: donora and lohio.
-had a meaningful conversation with a haitian cab driver.

What is so interesting Tahni is that you have an ability to truly capture and tell a Story (not just a story lower case) with your photos. The first one reminds me a bit of an old Woody Allen flick. The second one reminds me of my father’s childhood as this woman looks a tiny bit like my dad’s mom. The setting is a lot like the scenes from my dad’s young years. Can’t wait to see ALL the photos! Um, yeah, the cold weather will let up in May(ish).
