this quote is the reason i gave myself the challenge i did. and it’s what i simultaneously learned as i labored to constantly see, to shoot, to keep pushing myself knowing that i wanted to succeed. i care a lot about the quality of the photographs i both take and publish here on the world wide web. but sometimes, caring more about the quality causes you to miss out on so much more that you could capture.
for me, the quantitative focus led to quality i couldn’t have imagined otherwise. and i learned to look beyond what i normally see. to recognize the quirkiness and individuality of every building, every person, every avenue.
and so, i am proud to say that i took a total of 1,267 photographs. and many of those are shots i would never have taken.
so here is my favorite from day four:
day four was spent packing and preparing to get on the train.
but i also managed to:
visit a little bookstore called “the corner bookstore.”
walk through central park.
take photos on the stairs of the met.
walk museum mile.
eavesdrop on a skype conversation in french.
and discover the fabulous vanilla rooibos tea at starbucks.
so this completes my days in new york. but don’t worry, many photographs will follow.
