i now have two legit employment prospects. it has never felt so good knowing that i will for sure at least have a little bit of money in my back account.
opportunity number one. off campus bookstore in college station. i’m working the “back to school rush.” essentially, i’m working every hour they can give me without being a full-time employee for three straight weeks. it’s temporary, and the timing is perfect. as soon as the rush is over, i leave for the beautiful land of greece!
opportunity number two. substitute teaching. that’s right, i’m going to be one of those ladies. but, it feels like the perfect job for me. it is incredibly flexible– you choose when you work, what schools you want to sub at, and what jobs you accept. you also get decent pay, and a lunch break! for someone who needs as flexible as you can get, since i am trying to start up some sort of art gig, and trying to figure out what i want to do, and wanting to travel around a bit, there aren’t really very many more options this good.
i’ve always said i’m not the teacher type, and luckily substitutes don’t really do too much teaching, but this seems like a good opportunity to dip into the education world. i said i would sub anything but that i enjoy art, french, social studies, and geography. who knows, maybe i will actually enjoy those things even more than i expected in a classroom setting.
on another note, my entire life is different now that i have a new computer. okay, maybe not THAT different. but i can actually do photoshop and have other programs open. AND i don’t have to wait 2 minutes for every action in photoshop to take place. i don’t know how i handled only 504 megabytes of ram for so long.
Congrats on the new computer and job opportunities! Will you be substitute teaching in College Station?
yeah for the computer and the temp job.
