I think Emma and Adam received an extra measure of good luck for getting married in a hurricane. Though everything was supposed to be outside, they were very calm in the midst of the storm- and it made working with them and capturing their day as-is so much more fun. I also have to give a shout-out to Cody Grannis of Amore Events by Cody, who was an all-around bad-a when it came to keeping the day together and organized. If you are looking for a wedding planner/coordinator- she is your girl! Everything had the potential to fall apart, but she held it all together beautifully. I hope to get to work with her again!
The wedding happened at the beautiful property of James Monroe: Ash Lawn-Highland. It’s surrounded by lush gardens and old architectural detail- which unfortunately the hurricane prevented from having many photos taken of. It hardly mattered- because Emma and Adam were relaxed, incredible, and so much fun to be around. As a side note, Emma’s mom was a hoot! Her family is from South Africa (notice the South African inspired cake), and I don’t know if that makes them naturally funny, but every time she talked, I was nearly doubled over in laughter.
Their guests were extremely fashionable, their cake was heavenly, and their flowers were some of my favorites ever. I hope you enjoy!
fun, fun, fun. And a memory to last forever!!!
I can’t stop reliving this wedding through your beautiful pictures. I have viewed this blog at least 15 times since it went up! Tahni, you are so very talented, the way you captured Emma and Adam’s love for each-ther – Also, the way cute picture of Clarissa and Emma. All I can say is “WOW”, are you tired of hearing that from me yet:)

Wow, I never imagined that a rainy wedding could be so amazing! I love the photos with the umbrella – so romantic yet whimsical! I think a rainy engagement photo session would be really awesome.
