i really wanted to blog today. and then i realized i have nothing to say.
i have to admit, i was really anxious about being brittany and bryan’s photographer. i have no experience whatsoever and really had no idea what i was doing. after the wedding i was horified, feeling like i didn’t get any good photos. not only am i happy with the photos, but i’m really inspired by…
how can i not smile in the lazy hazy afternoons of summer? they are my absolute favorite. i’m moving inches across the miles to light-spirited freedom. but it’s something. the two that i live with are doing well too. i enjoy spending my afternoons with their joy and peace. AND, i think it really helps…
i’m off to photograph my first wedding. i never wanted into this business but based on how excited i am right now, maybe doing a few more weddings won’t be so bad. 🙂 i think getting to travel around the world to do it would be even better. in fact, even if someone would just…
i don’t read christian blogs. i don’t even like christian blogs. by that, i don’t mean i won’t read the blogs of other christians. but when i see posts about christianity, i run away (technically, click away) as fast as my fingers will carry me. but then i found Jamie. and i think she is…

Great job!!! Love the shot of her shoes.
Excellent job, Tahni! You're a natural. If you liked the experience and you stick with a style you like, you could make a nice living doing it, or at a minimum you could do it on the side if it isn't something you wish to do full time.
As I've said many times, your shots are truly artistic…you have a natural eye for that, which I have never had and never will have, regardless of all the time I spent in photography classes or the 1000 hours I spent in the darkroom.
If you make sure to carefully manage the business side of it correctly (figuring your costs and rates and time spent correctly) and stick with a style that you like and is uniquely you, you will end up having as little or as much business as you want. Your work is that good. I can't stress that enough.
FYI, we have a good book on the business side of photography if you'd like to take a look at it. That might help you get some of those things figured out and out of the way so that you could concentrate on doing what you like and not worrying about whether or not you end up working for nothing.
