this weekend, a few friends and i explored a part of d.c. that i hadn’t yet experienced. i’ve heard of old town alexandria from various blogs, so i jumped at the opportunity when sam suggested we check it out. it was refreshing to spend time with good friends, to drink iced coffee, to sit on the boardwalk and listen to jazz music. perhaps the best part of it all was that distinct feel of summer nostalgia. it was warm enough to wear a sleeveless shirt, and people watching on the boardwalk was exactly what i needed to recover from a busy week. i was glad i brought my camera along, to snap a few lovely photos. i went a little retro in my post processing because i was inspired by how much my friend samantha looked like she stepped out of the 70s.
i also got to fill my craving for beignets after reading about a fellow photographer visiting cafe du monde in the french quarter. and boy were they delicious. they brought me back to my childhood- growing up visiting the french quarter every couple of years.
i’d love to return to the boardwalk this summer for an engagement shoot. any takers?
holy cow, who are you and why haven’t I met you yet??? love your work!!
i would like to meet you there, but not for an engagement shoot 😉
i love those row houses.
Wow, just stumbled upon your site and I love it! I’m an aspiring photographer myself and this is just the thing to inspire me for spring! Keep up the great work!
