today, i have lots to share. first is the photo from project revamp, which took me insanely long to edit and be happy with.
it represents a place that is filled with so many memories in saint louis, senegal. time to myself, time with friends, time with the ocean. there is so much i could say, so i leave it to the photograph to speak for me.
the fact that my photo for today is a gateway is quite perfect because i decided to finally get my art going on etsy. i have been nervous about combining art and photography into one shop. but i need to get my art out there. being that i want it to support me, this is the best start i can think of.
in addition to the challenge of being a professional artist, i began another challenge this week. at comm church during the summer we are doing seminars. we just began our second session and i was blessed enough to be able to get into the “spiritual photography seminar.”
i can already feel it challenge me to look to the Holy Spirit for inspiration, to combine my faith with one of my passions and to speak of the Lord through it. our assignment this week is to go on a prayer walk and take our camera. sunday we will show and explain our best three shots.
i am excited, but nervous. i hope that creativity will surround my work through this seminar and truly speak the things of God.
yesterday, in praying about the assignment and the seminar. i was inspired to take out my ballet shoes and dance while i prayed. and this is the result. hopefully this means i am off to a good start. and i hope this is yet another gateway into a life as a photographer filled with inspiration from the Holy Spirit.
project revamp here.
I love your ballet picture. It makes me want to start dancing again. Can I bribe you to put it on etsy for me to buy??
i thought about putting it on etsy. if you want it, you got it. just tell me the size and it will be there. 🙂
i love love the ballet shoes shot. seriously. i know its me but still. i love dancing feet…it just represents joy to me. the door being open…possibility and hope.
thank you.
i love your work. i love you.
Tahnawannaplie:
Put on your dancing shoes! Ready now, first position – GO (*hears "She's A Maniac" playing in the background*). I wish I could do just one thing well – sheesh – a painter, a photographer and a dancer?!
I will just sit here and sulk until the song quits playing in my head!
Love,
Dad
