why i create (paint, mosaic, photograph, draw, write, etc):
i love to be part of the creative process. it connects me with myself, with others, and especially with God- the ultimate creator and inventor of the creative process. i experience Life when i create.
i want to capture humanity. i attempt in all that i do to capture the essence of the human experience. particularly the spiritual and the emotional experiences which are intertwined with the physical, cerebral, communal, and cultural.
i create to encourage. to say “here’s where i have been” or “this is what i have learned of the human soul.” to be vulnerable, to be open, in hopes that someone else will be moved, taught, or just get to see a taste of beauty (or what i believe to be beautiful).
in this life, there are so many words left unspoken. and i hope to say them through creating, subverting the spoken word.
the photo of the gallery was taken by allie during the opening for the Texas A&M student artfest. if you are in the bryan/college station area, you can go see that painting [the one of the three birds incorrectly labeled as “Psalm 13”] at the stark gallery on campus. it will be up until may 1st, when it will move over to gallery art 979, where i will be one of the student artists featured during the month of May. (!!!) ps- it was extremely hard to plug my own work, but i want people to come support me. 🙂
Where is the stark gallery?
it is the gallery connected to the msc. 🙂
Tahnartist:
I love everything that you create. I am thinking it might be genetic (smile). We can hardly wait for both your graduation and your art showing. Hey everyone reading this post, go see Tahni’s art and feel free to pay 3 times the asking price. I predict that someday it will be worth 3000 times its original price. Then again, I have been called biased at times (I am not sure why?).
I Love You Girl,
Daddy
thanks dad 🙂
your support and encouragement is exciting!
GO Tahni!!
tahni, I LOVE this picture of you on this post. It’s incredible, and you look absolutely stunning in it. Seriously. I love that you create and that you were created to create. You speak to me so much through living out that gift. Thank you sweet friend.
